Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of ConvertCompressTool's browser-based conversion utilities. By accessing the site, you agree to the responsibilities and limitations described below.

Last updated: September 29, 2025

ConvertCompressTool provides free tools that convert, compress, and transform documents, images, and structured data directly in your browser. The services are intended for professional and personal workloads where keeping files on-device is a priority. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and ConvertCompressTool AB (referred to as "ConvertCompressTool," "we," or "us"). If you do not agree with these terms, you must not use the service.

1. Eligibility and agreement

You confirm that you are at least 16 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. By accessing the site, you accept the Terms on behalf of yourself or the organisation you represent.

2. Description of the service

The service includes tools such as HTML to PDF conversion, PDF merge and compression, image optimisation, JSON to CSV conversion, and Base64 encoding or decoding. Functionality may evolve over time as we add new utilities or retire legacy features.

3. Account-free usage

ConvertCompressTool does not require user accounts. You are responsible for safeguarding the files and output you generate. Because we do not store your conversions, we cannot recover them if they are lost on your device.

4. Acceptable use

When using the service, you agree not to:

  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
  • Upload or process content that is illegal, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise harmful.
  • Reverse engineer, interfere with, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
  • Automate access in a way that degrades performance for other users.
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with ConvertCompressTool or imply endorsements without permission.

5. User content and licences

Files you process using our tools remain yours. We do not claim ownership over input or output content. If you voluntarily share feedback, bug reports, or testimonials, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use that material to improve and promote the service.

6. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data, including consent for Google AdSense and customer communications. By using the service, you acknowledge that your information will be processed in accordance with that policy.

7. Availability and updates

We aim to provide reliable tools, but uptime is not guaranteed. We may modify or discontinue features at any time without notice. Whenever we introduce breaking changes, we will document them in product notes or interface changelogs.

8. Third-party services

Some features rely on third-party libraries or services (for example, Google AdSense). Each third party is responsible for its own terms and privacy practices. If a third-party service becomes unavailable, related features may stop working until we deploy an alternative.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that conversions will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that output will meet your specific quality requirements.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ConvertCompressTool will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from your use of the service. Our total liability under these Terms will not exceed one hundred (100) euros.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ConvertCompressTool, its directors, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the service.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the service at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or used the tools in a way that could harm other users or our infrastructure. You may stop using the service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue in effect.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict of law principles. The courts of Sweden will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to the service, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect new features or legal requirements. When changes are material, we will post a notice on the site or notify you through available contact details. Continued use after the effective date of the changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent via the channels below. We aim to respond within two business days.
